Engagement Sessions are not only a wonderful way to get a taste of being in front of the camera, it is the beginning of our professional relationship. It allows me to get to know you both on a personal level and get you comfortable being photographed. It is my opportunity to pop you in beautiful light with a gorgeous bay area backdrop and document your love story. It is also a wonderful opportunity for you to have your hair and makeup trial and see how your look translates on images. I highly taking advantage of your makeup trial the same day as your engagement photos then enjoy a dinner together after your session.

Engagement photos have many benefits. If you’ve booked me as your wedding photographer, then it’s a good opportunity for us to get to know each other before your wedding day.
If you’re booking an engagement session to celebrate your newly engaged status, then it’s a fabulous opportunity to get some gorgeous photos of you both together to share with friends and family, as well as on social media.
Regardless of the reason for an engagement session, the result will be beautiful photos to cherish that will remind you of the fun you had together on your couple photoshoot.
Photoshoot Locations
The Bay Area offers so many wonderful backdrops for your engagement session. I recommend choosing a place that is meaningful to your relationship or if you are visiting from out of town I can happily offer many San Francisco Bay Area locations to choose from. I recommend picking two spots within driving distance from each other. The Presidio, Mission District, Golden Gate Bridge, Ocean Beach, Lands End, again the list is endless.
My engagement photoshoots take place in a selection of hand-picked locations around San Francisco and the Bay Area. So, whether you’d like your photo session to feature the iconic golden gate bridge, or the architectural splendour of city hall, San Francisco has plenty of options to choose from, so there’s sure to be a location that fits.

My style of photography can be described as fine art. I want to not only capture your connection and unique personalities, I want to provide you images you are proud to hang on your wall as fine art pieces. My photos are fun, fresh and contemporary and it gives me the opportunity to pose you in beautiful light and let your love for each other shine through.

We did our engagement pictures with her, and I cannot stop looking at them, they are just so beautiful. She is amazing at capturing those candid, natural moments – nothing looks stiff or staged. She puts you at ease from the start and shows you how to have fun with it – everyone who has seen my pictures commented that we look like we’re having so much fun, and we were! She was great at directing us to be ourselves and relax, and you can totally see that in the pictures – she’s also hilarious and so easy to connect with right from the start. Plus she is brilliant at capturing the perfect light and beautiful backdrops – I have had soooooo many compliments on my pics. I can’t say enough good things about our experience – I highly recommend Kirsty if you’re looking for someone to do your engagement session/wedding/family photographs, etc!

What SHOULD WE WEAR?
Dress as the best version of yourself, I want your engagement images to reflect who you both are and I want you to be comfortable. Also consider your chosen location when choosing what to wear. San Francisco Bay Area weather can go from sunshine to wind in a snap so keep that in mind. I also offer wardrobe tips when you book your sessions.
HOW LONG SHOULD WE PLAN FOR OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
Engagement Sessions are typically 2 hours and planned at sunset to take advantage of the Golden Hour. Sundays or weekdays are great days to shoot if you choose a popular tourist area as their is typically less foot traffic.
WHY DO AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
There are so many benefits to doing an engagement session! It allows us the time to get to know each other on a personal level, allows you to get comfortable in front of the camera and these images can also be used on save the dates, invitations and printed out and framed for your wedding day decor.
